Davido & Wizkid Are Nominated For A 2017 MTV Europe Music Award

2017 has been a really great year for Nigerian music, with Wizkid and Davido dutifully leading the pack. From massive collaborations to sold-out concerts, both artistes have done so much for the culture, we can't even begin to imagine the industry without them.

So, it comes as no surprise that both of them have been regulars on the nominees' lists of a ton of award shows, both home and abroad – although they are usually relegated to the world or African music categories (which is a rant for another day).

Well, the MTV Europe Music Awards just released their nominations for 2017 and both artistes will represent Nigeria for the 'Best African Act' category – although we can already guess this award will easily go to Wizkid, who should really be building a bigger trophy case.

They are nominated alongside other brilliant artistes from around Africa, including Babes Wodumo (South Africa) C4 Pedro (Angola), Nasty C (South Africa) and Nyashinski (Kenya). Sidebar: Why isn't 'Mama Africa' herself, Yemi Alade, nominated too?

Anyway, as always, the winner will be determined by the fans, so be sure to vote for the artiste you think deserves it the most right here. The winner will be announced during the show on November 13. You can also check out the rest of the nominees here.
