The 2017 Latin AMAs air tonight and there is a huge lineup of performers ready to hit the stage. Billboard reports that Becky G, Diego Boneta, Bad Bunny, Camila Cabello, Chayanne, Gente de Zona, Fifth Harmony, Jesse & Joy, Manuel Medrano, Chris Brown, Natalia Jimenez, Pablo Alboran, Farruko and Ozuna, Pitbull, Gloria Trevi, Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga, Spiff TV, Chiquis Rivera, Prince Royce, Wisin, Christian Daniel, Christian Nodal, Abraham Mateo, Alejandra Guzman, Angeles and Bacilos are the performers. Two of the performers, Becky G and Diego Boneta, are the hosts of the evening and performer Pitbull is the recipient of the first-ever Latin AMA Dick Clark Achievement Award.
Performer Boneta is also known as an actor from shows and movies includig Scream Queens, 90210 and Rock of Ages. Entertainment Tonight also reports that Boneta is getting ready to appear as Luis Miguel in an upcoming Telemundo/Netflix series. Boneta talked about his connection to Latin music ahead of the awards, saying, “I love Latin music. I love music in general. It’s always been a huge part of my life. It makes me nostalgic because I started [out] singing and did so in Latin America, so it brings back a lot of great memories.” Recently, performer Bad Bunny was in the news for rocking a t-shirt with a question directed at Donald Trump. In Spanish, the shirt read, “Are you a tweeter or president?” When asked about the t-shirt, Bad Bunny released the following statement to Billboard, “I used this t-shirt to make a statement, and send a message to the President that there are many issues going on that are more important than speaking his mind on Twitter. This concert had the goal to aid people from my island, U.S. citizens who are in dire need of supplies, and all Mr. Trump does is play on social media and complain that we want everything done for us, instead of actually doing something productive. So, I ask again: Mr. Trump, are you a tweeter or a President?”
Camila Cabello is another music artist set to perform and she just released her music video “Havana”. The song is featuring Young Thug and Rolling Stone says that the music video is like a telenovela. Prince Royce is another big artist performing tonight and recently he opened up to ET Online about his rough neighborhood, growing up in the Bronx. Prior to becoming famous, he was working as a sales associate at a local Sprint wireless store. Along with his music career, Prince Royce also takes on acting gigs when he can. Check out all the performers, in addition to Prince Royce, in action at the Latin AMAs live tonight on the Telemundo network.
