George Weah And The Man of God In The Synagogue

Despite all the social media comments that former footballer, George Weah is set to be the next president of Liberia, the truth is that, the man still has a long way to go. He was second in the first round of elections and he was far behind the leader. He needs all the help he can get… and that is why he was spotted in Nigeria recently.

The man who had continued to contest for the presidency for over a decade now did not come to get advice from our president who was in his shoes for over a decade as well. Instead, he sought out spiritual help – our other area of specialty in Nigeria.

Like most foreigners coming to Nigeria on a spiritual journey, Weah, last Sunday attended a church service in Lagos, to ‘seek God’s face’ at The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, SCOAN, led by T.B. Joshua.
Trust Joshua and his ever agile media team, they milked the moment. During his sermon which was broadcast live on popular Christian channel Emmanuel TV, TB Joshua warmly welcomed George Weah and spoke directly to him saying “my brother is here today because he loves his country and wants God’s choice for his country. He is not here to impose himself. What does God say about his country, Liberia? What is God’s opinion? That is why he is here.”
Also present in the service was Yormie Johnson, a former Liberian warlord and also one of the nation’s prominent presidential candidates. The presidential run-off election between Weah and Boakai is scheduled to hold on November 7, 2017
