The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) will at last meet today to choose the following proceed onward whether to suspend or proceed with their prior pronounced uncertain strike.
A vital National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is going ahead to settle on offers made by the Federal Government group a week ago to induce its striking individuals to come back to work.
In front of the NEC meeting, different zones of ASUU had met to consider the offer and also contributions from the different branches for introduction to the NEC.
ASUU had left on an uncertain strike on August 14, blaming government for inability to recover the terms of assention marked in 2009 and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) embraced by the two gatherings in 2012.
One of the zonal facilitators of ASUU disclosed to Saturday Sun: "I should express that the offer from the Federal Government is a long ways from our individuals' desires. He exposed a claim by the Education Minister that ASUU would cancel the strike this week, saying, "we didn't guarantee the priest anything. We told the administration group that we will counsel with our individuals on what government has offered".
