But what are the transfers to keep an eye on. Our friends at Football Whispers, with the help of their unique transfer algorithm, pick out 20 deals that could happen before the transfer window slams shut.
KYLIAN MBAPPE - MONACO TO PSG - 4.9
Mbappe is still only 18 and has less than a year’s experience in the Monaco first-team, and yet he is set to become the second most expensive footballer ever.
The French international’s rise to prominence last season was staggering. He went from bit-part young player to key man in the space of nine months. Mbappe ended the 2016/17 campaign having made 44 appearances, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further 14.
It’s why PSG are going to pay £167m ($271m) to sign the striker – although they will loan him initially in order to get around FFP regulations. The deal is all but done, we’re all just waiting for the announcement.

SHKODRAN MUSTAFI - ARSENAL TO INTER - 4.8
The German only arrived at the Emirates last summer from Valencia but, strangely, the Gunners and Arsene Wenger are happy to let Mustafi move on after just one year with Arsenal.
Serie A giants Inter are expected to complete an initial loan deal for Mustafi, who was dropped to the bench for Sunday’s humiliating 4-0 defeat at Liverpool.
ARSENAL LATEST: Firm Sanchez bid lodged, two Gunners near exit
Arsenal are demanding Inter pay £35m ($57m) to make the deal permanent next summer, which the Italians are expected to agree to. The deal should be concluded with time to spare.
JUAN FOYTH - ESTUDIANTES TO TOTTENHAM - 4.8
Tottenham have been one of the quieter clubs in this summer’s transfer market but that could change in the next two days, starting with the signing of Argentine defender Foyth for a reported £10m ($16m).
The 19-year-old has been chased by the north Londoner for several weeks but PSG were also interested and had been in pole position to land the young centre-back.
However, a phone call from Mauricio Pochettino has convinced Foyth that Spurs are better suited to continue his rapid development. A fee has been agreed and the deal will be done, subject to Foyth being given a work permit.
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN - ARSENAL TO CHELSEA - 4.6
With less than 12 months remaining on his contract and having told Arsenal he won’t be signing a new deal, the Gunners have decided to cash in on Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Liverpool were interested in the England international but haven’t submitted an offer. Chelsea, meanwhile, have and are closing in on a £40m ($65m) deal for the 24-year-old, who has often played out of position at right wing-back this season.
The Premier League champions should land their man, although he’s unlikely to play in his preferred central midfield role at Stamford Bridge.
THOMAS LEMAR - MONACO TO LIVERPOOL - 4.0
Liverpool could be the Premier League’s biggest spenders in the final two days of the transfer window and they’re hoping to complete a deal for France international Lemar before the window closes.
The Reds have had a bid of £65m ($105m) rejected by Monaco but are ready to submit another offer worth up to £75m ($122m).

Monaco stated, amid interest from Arsenal earlier in the window, that Lemar wasn’t for sale. Liverpool have to race against time to convince the Ligue 1 champions to part ways with the winger.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ - ARSENAL TO MAN CITY - 4.0
The Chilean wants out of Arsenal, that much is clear. He has less than 12 months remaining on his contract and isn’t going to sign a new deal. The Gunners must decide if they want to cash in.
City have reportedly submitted an offer of cash plus Raheem Sterling for Sanchez. Arsenal have responded by demanding cash plus Sergio Aguero, a deal the Manchester club are unlikely to agree to. Manchester City have then come back with an offer of £50m ($81m), again rejected by the Gunners.
It’s a convoluted deal and one that won’t be easy to get done before the window closes. Both clubs will have to act quickly.

SERGE AURIER - PSG TO TOTTENHAM - 4.0
The Ivorian is allowed to leave PSG this summer after the French club brought in Dani Alves. A fee of £23m ($37m) will get a deal done and Tottenham believe they are in pole position to land Aurier before the window closes.
However, Aurier is hoping Manchester United revive their previous interest. If no offer comes from the Red Devils, however, he is likely to complete a move to north London.
VIRGIL VAN DIJK - SOUTHAMPTON TO LIVERPOOL - 3.9
The biggest transfer saga of the summer is still rumbling on. Southampton are adamant van Dijk is not for sale yet Liverpool believe an agreement can be struck.
Perhaps that is because keeping an unhappy player against their will is, in the long run, counter productive. And with Liverpool willing to pay £70m ($114m) to secure the Dutchman’s signing, the Saints’ stance may weaken.
Van Dijk wants to go to Liverpool, however, Chelsea and Arsenal remain interested too. You expect the centre-back will leave Southampton, but it may not be until the final minutes of the window.
PHILIPPE COUTINHO - LIVERPOOL TO BARCELONA - 3.7
Liverpool have turned down three bids from Barcelona – the latest believed to be £118m plus add-ons – for the Brazilian but the Catalans are expected to make one final bid of up to £135m ($220m) before the window closes.
The Reds are adamant Coutinho will not leave, although Jurgen Klopp is reportedly disappointed with how the 25-year-old has acted during discussions.
A deal could still be struck, but even Brazil team-mate Neymar has warned Coutinho off moving to the Camp Nou. You doubt Barcelona will get their man at this stage of the window.

FERNANDO LLORENTE - SWANSEA TO CHELSEA - 3.6
Chelsea were interested in the Spanish striker in January and again earlier in the summer, but the Swans’ £30m valuation ended the Blues’ interest on both occasions.
However, the west Londoners believe the Welsh club will now be willing to sell the 32-year-old, who scored 15 Premier League goals last season, for around £15m ($24m).
Antonio Conte is a big fan of Llorente and will be keen to get a deal done. If the Spaniard arrives at Stamford Bridge, Michy Batshuayi could move on.
DANNY DRINKWATER - LEICESTER CITY TO CHELSEA - 3.6
Another deal Chelsea are hopeful of concluding before the window closes is a £40m ($65m) deal for Leicester’s Drinkwater.
The midfielder played a key role alongside N’Golo Kante during the Foxes’ shock Premier League title win in 2016 but his place in the Leicester side is no longer guaranteed following Wilfred Ndidi’s arrival in January and the summer signing of Vicente Iborra.
The Blues are ready to pay £40m for Drinkwater and should seal his signing on deadline day
