Rubbish Removal Meets Milan Fashion Week

Clearabee has rapidly expanded their rubbish removal services across all of England while at the same time becoming recognized as a world business leader in sustainable practices. Not only have they become one of the most efficient rubbish removal services in the world, they have done   so with a never wavering commitment to keeping the rubbish they clear out of the UK landfills.

Beyond their own eco-focused efforts, they pay close attention to other high profile sustainability efforts and nothing is more "high profile" than what is happening during the fall 2017 Milan Fashion Week!

The very first Italian GC Fashion Awards are set to happen September 12, 2017, during MFW. They will be held in the La Scala Theater and will feature designs from the top Italian fashion companies including Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Valentino, and Prada.

The  Italian GC Fashion Awards will also feature sustainable designs from ten young millennial aged designers, who have been mentored through the ranks, and are thought to be the next generation of leading Italian designers.

These emerging Italian designers will be competing for the Franca Sozzani GCC Emerging Designer of the Year Award, the recipient of which will have their career catapulted to a whole new level. They will also have the opportunity to present their unique design at the spring Milan Fashion Week to be held in February, 2018.

The high profile event is being put on by the CNDM Italiana (CNMI), often abbreviated as the Camera Della Moda, the National Chamber of Italian Fashion in English, and in collaboration with The GC Challenge (GCC), the communications arm of Eco-Age, founded by Livia Firth. It is also being supported by the ITA (ITA), the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), and the MOM, Italy.

In other words, this event is getting lots of world wide press and publicity.Being part of Milan Fashion Week, each design entered must be exquisitely beautiful of course. However, there's actually so much more to these beautiful designs! Each design entered into the GC Fashion Awards Italia must rigorously follow the ten GCC POSE.

These range from fair trade and no child labor practices to avoiding the use of toxic chemicals in the production of fabrics and accessories. Clearabee can be particularly proud of the seventh GCC Principle of Sustainable Excellence:

"Re-use resources including raw materials and finished products, and minimise energy use, water, natural resources, waste generation and greenhouse gas emission.

"Reusing their rubbish removal  is one of Clearabee's most ardent directives.

Furthermore, whenever possible, they strive to reuse rubbish in a way that actually prolongs its life and elevates its status in the eyes of consumers. Turning rubbish into beautiful fashion pieces worthy of the talents of top designers and being highlight during MFW is the perfect match for Clearabee's vision as a eco-ethical company.

While we will have to wait to know about all the designs showcased at the Italian GC Fashion Awards, we do have a sneak preview of some of them:

1. A backpack made from recycled fishing net. This fits in well with an effort off the UK coast by divers to retrieve lost fishing nets, also known as "ghost nets," that entangle sea creatures and kill them, and turn these ghost nets into fashionable swimsuits.

2. A pseudo leather gown made from food waste, specially apples.

3. A sequin gown where the sequins are made from tiny pieces of discarded CDs and Italian seashells.

4. A tailored piece dyed with a non-toxic natural dye from wild flowers. This event helps us to envision a day where some of Clearabee's rubbish removal items are sent directly to top clothing manufacturers. We can even see where these won't just be turned into everyday clothes, although this will be cool too, but elegant designs worn by top models in fashion shows.

As we repurpose our rubbish streams into useful and or beautiful products, we save our planet for future generations, and in doing so, we save humanity. We should mention that "GCC validation" has become highly sought after as a symbol of global sustainability just as hiring a skip from Clearabee has become a symbol of pride and sustainability across England.
With more economic organizations and businesses stressing sustainability principles, it becomes increasingly easier for individual consumers to practice sustainability in their everyday lives.
