Mame Biram Diouf has been praised by Mark Hughes but, according to the Stoke boss, he may have to continue playing as a wing-back for the foreseeable future.
The 29-year-old signed a contract extension earlier this week, and is just one appearance short of bringing up the ton for the Potters.
However, his manager says he may not get too many opportunities to play in his favoured position of striker.
“He’s a great guy with fantastic attitude to his work. He gets a bit frustrated he doesn’t play down the middle but, at the moment, he’s playing exceptionally well in his new role,” said Hughes.
“There’s nothing to say he won’t play there at some point this season but at the moment there is no reason to move him.”
