Trump had wanted to do healthcare reform first (it died) and then tax reform (i.e. cutting taxes for corporations and wealthy people).
His Treasury Secretary had been promising tax reform by the end of August.
Then Trump tried to do healthcare again (it died again).
Now apparently he's trying to do healthcare yet again (it will die again).
As a result, tax reform - the other thing Republicans had promised would definitely get done - is not going to get done this summer.
After months of promising an August rollout, his Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said today that an August rollout was "highly aggressive to the point of not realistic."
So naturally, the President came out to contradict him, saying, "We’re in very good shape on tax reform. We have the concept of the plan. We're going to be announcing it very soon...We're going to surprise you. Right, Steve Mnuchin? Right?"
Right!
