OG Morning Devotion ; Overflowing laughter (1 Nov 2017)

Open Heavens 1 November 2017: Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Overflowing laughter

Topic: Overflowing laughter — Wednesday 1, November 2017.

Memorise: And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. – Genesis 21:6

Read: 2 Kings 2:1-15 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

2 And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said unto him, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

3 And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

4 And Elijah said unto him, Elisha, tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Jericho. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they came to Jericho.

5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.

6 And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.

7 And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.

8 And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

Bible in One Year: James 4-5, 1 Peter 1, Hosea 9, Hymn: Sing Hymn 4 – Through the love of God our Savior

MESSAGE:

In Joshua 7, after the Israelites had defeated the people of Jericho, Joshua sent a handful of soldiers to attack Ai. Because Ai was just a little town, he expected victory without a sweat, but to his utter dismay, his people were defeated. After receiving the sad news, he fell on his face overwhelmed by shame, because defeat brings shame. The enemies would have laughed, wondering how a small city such as Ai could defeat Israel. However, while Joshua was lying before the Ark of the Covenant with his face to the ground, God told him the cause of the defeat and what to do to have victory again. Have you been defeated by a weakness or an enemy you considered too weak to bring you down? I declare to you that this is your season to laugh! The Lord will show you the way to victory today, and your laugher will begin.

Coming up next: Open Heavens 2 November 2017: Thursday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Expect Tests

Moreover, beyond laughter, there is something called overflowing laughter. In today’s Bible passage, when Elijah was about to be transported to Heaven, Elisha his servant had some unpleasant experiences everywhere he went with his master. As they visited each of the schools of prophets, the sons of the prophets, who were students in those schools, called Elisha aside and said to him, “Daddy’s boy, everywhere daddy goes, you go with him. Do you know that your daddy will be going finally today, and you will have no one else to follow about? We shall soon see what will become of you.” Every time they say this, Elisha replied them saying, “I know my master is going today, but mind your own business.” After Elisha was taken to Heaven and his mantle dropped, Elisha grabbed it, smote the river like his father had done, and the River Jordan parted into two for him to go through. The sons of the prophets, who were watching from a distance, came and bowed down to him. They had no choice but to admit that indeed, the spirit of Elijah now rested on him. The greatest laughter comes when your mockers become your servants. When God called me into ministry, a lot of people laughed. The greatest laughter came from my village, where they said, “Look at him – the only lecturer from this village who we thought was going to become an important personality. We knew something was wrong with him the moment he joined that church of ‘Amen’ and began saying ‘Amen’ Amen”. Nevertheless, today, God has given me overflowing laughter. Wherever they are laughing you to scorn, the Lord will give you overflowing laughter in Jesus Name!

Action Point: Pray that everyone who has been experiencing sorrow, disgrace and shame for long in your local assembly will begin to experience overflowing laughter from now on

Hymn 4: Through the love of God our Savior

Verse 1
Through the love of God our Savior
All will be well;
Free and changeless is His favor;

All, all is well.
Precious is the blood that healed us;
Perfect is the grace that sealed us;
Strong the hand stretched out to shield us;
All must be well.

Verse 2
Though we pass through tribulation,
All will be well;
Ours is such a full salvation;
All, all is well.
Happy still in God confiding,
Fruitful, if in Christ abiding,
Holy through the Spirit’s guiding,
All must be well.

Verse 3
We expect a bright tomorrow;
All will be well;
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
All, all is well.
On our Father’s love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
Or in living, or in dying,
All must be well.

OG Morning Devotion; Prayerlessness Disallowed (31 Oct 2017)

Open Heavens 31 October 2017: Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Prayerlessness Disallowed

Topic: Prayerlessness Disallowed — Tuesday 31, October 2017.

Memorise: Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. – Matthew 26:41

Read: Mark 13:32-37 (KJV)

32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Bible in One Year: James 1-3, Hosea 8, Hymn: Sing Hymn 2 – What A Friend We Have In Jesus

MESSAGE:

Prayerlessness is a major challenge facing contemporary believers. Many refuse to pray as they ought to because they have become overconfident and proud. The more you pray to God, the less dependent on yourself you become. As young Christians, some people pray quite often. When they became workers in God’s vineyard, they sustained their prayer tempo, but the moment they became pastors, their prayer-life nosedived. Why the decline? It’s because such people began to believe that they could now do things on their own. This is the highway to ruin. Are you praying less after God has elevated you spiritually? If your answer is yes, check yourself very well, you will discover that you now have more faith in yourself to succeed by your effort than by God’s support. This is one reason why God keeps a distance from the proud: He knows if He helps them achieve a feat, at the end, they will not think twice before taking His glory.

Besides pride, another reason for prayerlessness is carelessness. In Matthew 26:41, Jesus said:

“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Coming next up: Open Heavens 1 November 2017: Wednesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Overflowing Laughter

Also, in Mark 13:32-37, the Lord emphasised the need to watch. You cannot afford to be careless. You can’t afford to be cold, lukewarm or carefree in these days that we live in. Praying goes along with watching. You cannot pray effectively if you fail to watch as well. If you watch effectively, it will help to give you prayers direction. You will know what trending issues to lift before God’s throne. You will have some burdens in the place of prayer that will only be lifted after you have prayed through. Similarly, if you watch as you should, you will be able to relate events that are happening around you with the second coming of Jesus Christ. If you are keeping watch, you will be on your guard and on your toes. If you watch, you cannot be asleep. Beloved, this is not the time to sleep but the time to be spiritually awake, alert and prepared. This is the time to pray about virtually everything that crosses our path. It is a time to wholly depend on God, who knows the way, to show us the way in the midst of growing confusion and evil spreading around the world. Wake up! Pray more! Fast more! Watch more! May the Lord guide you in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please silence everything in me that is working against me having an effective prayer life.

Hymn 2: What A Friend We Have In Jesus

Verse 1:
What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Verse 2:
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Verse 3:
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.

A Peek Into Ice Prince’s Biography Has He Celebrates His 31st Birthday Today

Panshak Zamani (born 23 October 1986), better known by his stage name Ice Prince, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and actor. He rose to fame after releasing “Oleku”, one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs of all time.

He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour.

His achievements include one BET Award, one Ghana Music Award, three The Headies Awards, two Nigeria Entertainment Awards and two Channel O Music Video Awards. Ice Prince is currently signed to Chocolate City.[5] His debut studio album, Everybody Loves Ice Prince, was released in 2011. It was supported by the singles “Oleku”, “Superstar”, “Juju” and “Magician”. In 2013, Ice Prince released Fire of Zamani as his second studio album. The album contained the singles “Aboki”, “More”, “Gimme Dat” and “I Swear”. On 1 July 2015, Ice Prince was announced as the new Vice President of Chocolate City.

Personal life

Ice Prince has a son named Jamal with Bimbo Babatunde. In an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, the rapper said he dated Eva Alordiah when he first relocated to Lagos.

Early life and music career

Ice Prince was born Panshak Henri Zamani in the city of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. At age two, he moved with his family to the mining city of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. While residing in Jos, he attended St. Murumba College. He also attended the Science Tutorial College in Jos.

In 1999, he began writing Rap songs and started performing them at social events held at his school. It was not until 2001 that he began going to studios to record. In 2002, he got together with a couple of friends and formed a group called the “Ecomog Squad”. They had few performances as a group and split a year later. In 2004, he connected with M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ruby, Lindsey, Eve, Taz, and together they became what is now known today as the “Loopy Crew”.

During an interview with Adeola Adeyemo, Ice Prince was asked to summarise his story. He said “I started out in Jos in a group called ECOMOG squad. We used to rap and sing together. The group split up after a few years and after that, I joined the choir in my church and started singing Tenor. That was about the time MI moved back to Nigeria and we became friends, we became family, we started living together, started making music together. I had a song that made it to Number 1 in Jos, that was when I started getting more attention. Then I got admitted into University of Jos to study Zoology but then I couldn’t really continue because of some financial constraint at the time.”

Ice Prince also opened up about the passing of his parents and the challenges he faced early on. He said:

“Life was not that rosy. When my dad was alive, life was pretty much rosy but I lost my Dad in 1999 and it was my Mum that was taking care of me up until she died too. So it was kinda hard to get by, really. I dropped out of school in my 100Level to focus on my music.I moved to Abuja and started living with MI and Jesse Jagz. We were making music, doing some small small shows just to get money. Then we moved to Lagos, we got a chance to chill at Djinee’s house. Djinee gave us some space in his house to sleep. Djinee is like my Jesus. He came through for us. We lived in his house and made it very uncomfortable for him but he took all the pain and accommodated us. This was in 2008. Gradually, there was steady growth. We got our own place, started making music. In 2008, I hosted Sprite Triple Slam. We did 30 shows, 15 in Lagos, 15 in the East. I got some small money off that to buy some new jeans and shoes so that girls would, you know, say hi to me when they see me.”

In 2004, Ice Prince released his debut single “Extraordinary”. “Rewind”, another single he released, received radio airplay in Lagos and Abuja. It charted on Rhythm Fm’s “Top 7 chart”, NotJustOk’s “Hype”, Unilag FM, Zain Central Station, Inspiration Fm, Top FM’s “Top of the Morning”, Cosmo FM’s “Top Hits”, Africa Connect Chat Show, and Kiss’ “Top 20 Africa”. Moreover, it charted at number 1 on Cool FM and Vision FM in Abuja.

Chocolate City contract
During the aforementioned interview, Ice Prince shed some light on his record deal with Chocolate City, saying: “My record deal with Chocolate City came off of my affiliation with MI and Jesse Jagz. We are pretty much brothers, we’ve always lived together, always been together. But then Chocolate City signed MI first. It was like they did it in order of our age. Then they signed Jesse Jagz. Jesse was obviously more ready than I was at that time. Then they saw that I was getting ready as well and they signed me too.”

2009: Hennessy Artistry
In 2009, Ice Prince participated in the Hennessy Artistry competition, a competition organised by the Hennessy brand which supports urban and contemporary music. The competition featured the likes of Bez, Mo’Cheddah, Blaise, and Jimmy Flames; Ice Prince came out 1st with his lead single “Badman” at the end of the competition.

Pastor, Wife Defraud Bank, Divert N17.8m To Personal Account

A pastor with Hilltop Ministry, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, Olotu Oluwakayode, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police for defrauding the staff of Covenant University, Ota, to the tune of N17.8million.

The Pastor, who runs a youth ministry, the police said, connived with his wife, Olotu Adeola, who was a staff of Heritage Bank Plc, Canaanland Branch, Ota as at the time the crime was committed, to commit the crime.

Oleevergist gathered that Adeola was treating loan and credit facility requests from the University between June 2015 and October 2016.

While the wife, still at large, was accused of posting fictitious loan facilities to the staff of the University, the fund was being diverted into the account of her husband domiciled with Fidelity Bank.

While parading the suspect at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the money was diverted to account number 4010959599 with account name ‘Hebrew Entertainment Concept’.

Iliyasu said the arrest of the pastor followed a petition by he management of the bank against Mrs Olotu who was their staff, adding that efforts was in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Speaking with Oleevergist.com , Pastor Olootu confessed to the ownership of the account but claimed that he wasn’t in the position to divert any money.

Olootu, who claimed to be an entrepreneur and publisher of a magazine, said he had not accessed his account in about three years.

He said, “When I was arrested about two years ago, some money came into my account and I went to access it, because when you’re alleged, you want to call your business manager and the accountant to know what was wrong.

“I haven’t been able to access the account but I am sure I can’t have such amount in my account, but there’s a statement before the police.

“I don’t have the details of the account, and I don’t know the account balance, I have never seen such money before. I’m worth such amount in cash.”

When asked if he receives alert on the account, Olotu said, “Those things will be distracting me because I have businesses, the accountant, which is my wife, receives the alert and I wasn’t aware of such deposit into my account.”

When asked to explain his wife running away, he said, “I believe my wife is a victim. She’s been used and she was never in the capacity to book or approve loans. She was a contract staff; she doesn’t have access to the system.

“I am feeling like she’s being victimised, she’s too afraid, she can’t handle this and I suspect she’s being victimised by the staff of the bank.

“For he past eight years, there is a particular boss who has been witch-hunting her all along. She is a performer, before she was sacked, she was performing over N400 million and the cabal at the back were doing not more than N15 million.”

I Regret My Past – Terry G

Gabriel Oche Amanyi, aka Terry G, since hitting the spotlight has swam in his fair share of controversies.

In a new chat with Sunday Scoop, the singer said all the mistakes made were during his younger years and he has greatly learnt from them.

He said;

“I do not like controversies. I was only a victim of controversies. All that I have done in the past that made me controversial were mistakes anyone could commit. I am still paying the price for my past. I did certain things I can never do again. I was a young boy, who was just having fun and enjoying music. My past still haunts me as I speak to you, as I am being judged for those actions. I have done things I am not proud of.”

On photos of him smoking hemp, Terry said that life is now in his past as he can no longer be caught doing such.

He added,

“I am now a scapegoat all because I represented the streets and I was not afraid to show it. I sacrificed myself for the new generation of artistes. All I was being criticised for are those things artistes do freely now and no one talks about them.”
“I have many regrets, which I take as lessons in a way. If I had known better, I wouldn’t have done certain things.
“But I do not think what I sing or say determines who I am. One day, Nigerians will realise that art is different from reality. I made my mother love Patience Ozokwor because she had the impression that she was a wicked woman because of her roles in movies. I made my father love many musicians too. I made them understand that what they were doing was an art.
“Sooner than later, Nigerians will understand that the all the crazy things I do are just for the art; I am an actor. I am yet to do most of the things the new artistes do in their videos, yet people still see me as the most terrible person. In other countries, nobody makes an issue out of those things,” he said

Mbappe reveals why he cannot challenge Neymar, Ronaldo, Messi for Ballon d’Or

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kylian Mbappe says he has a long way to go to challenging the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar for the Ballon d’Or.

The 18-year-old admits that he has a lot of work to do before he can be considered at the pinnacle of the sport.

“I still have a lot of steps to go for the Ballon d’Or, I’m learning,” he told TF1’s ‘Telefoot’.

Mbappe, however, believes that team mate, Neymar will claim the prize before he is at that standard.

“Ney has this technical quality that allows you to interact with him. He took me under his wing and if I can help him to win the Ballon d’Or, I’ll do it, but the important thing is the team,” he said.

PSG have made a terrific start to the season, surging to the top of Ligue 1 while also taking control of their Champions League group, in which they tackle Anderlecht on Tuesday.

Project Fame winner, Jeff Akoh speaks on ‘romantic relationship’ with Bisola, She's Too Old For me

Project Fame winner, Jeff Akoh speaks on ‘romantic relationship’ with Bisola

21-year-old Project Fame winner, Jeff Akoh as given reasons he cannot enter a romantic relationship with Big Brother Naija housemate, Bisola Aiyeola.

31-year-old Bisola had declared her love for singer on Twitter, stating that age won’t be a barrier.

Bisola later dismissed the post, saying she did that to get the attention of the public.

Reacting, Akoh told Punch that there was no way he could have been in a romantic tie with someone who was much older than him.

He said, “I was there when she made the post and it was funny. She made the post in the night and when I woke up the next morning, it was everywhere. But the truth is that she put her life on the line for me and I appreciate her for that.

“She just felt that way and put it on social media. She didn’t mean it and it is a free world where you can say whatever you want to say and do whatever you like.

“People apparently took it seriously; everyone has his or her opinion about life. I am not bothered a bit about that. The truth is she is not dating me; I am definitely too young for Bisola.

“She is more experienced than I am, so, we are not on the same pedestal. I can date someone older than me, but not by a 10-year difference.”

Biafra: Amaechi speaks on IPOB agitation, Igbo Presidency

President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in the 19 Northern states, Augustine Amaechi has said that agitations by the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) were borne out of injustice and continued marginalisation of the region.

Amaechi also alleged high level injustice, marginalisation and lack of fair play against the South East.

Speaking in Minna, Niger State, yesterday, after a one-day meeting of the group, Amaechi said the region hassuffered marginalisation and neglect for too long.

“Virtually every Nigerian agrees that there is injustice in the country, especially against the South East, but what every Nigerian has not agreed is what to do to address the injustice.

“Some have called for restructuring, some for devolution of power, all these still boil down to restructuring and the reason for this is that one region has not been recognised as belonging to Nigeria,”

He pointed out that what they are seeking is equitable distribution of power and resources in Nigeria.

“We want every Nigerian to be happy, I want to say that injustice to a Nigerian is injustice to all irrespective of tribe or creed. It does not matter where the person comes from, once a Nigerian suffers injustice, it should be a concern to all,” he added.

He insisted that an Igbo presidency in 2023 will end various agitations in the South East.

“Nigerians should support Igbo presidency in 2023, as the only way to douse growing tension in the South East.”

He said Igbo would do everything to secure the unity of the country as they aspire to produce an Igbo president in 2023‎.

“We want to produce the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria and not Biafra and this reminds everybody that we are not talking of Biafra this time,” he said.

Amaechi said with such ambition, the Igbo has to build bridges of friendship between Igbo and their various communities.

“At the end of this meeting, I can assure you of ‎the Igbo presidency in 2023,” he said.

Actress, Yvonne Nelson Welcomes First Child, A Bouncy Baby Girl

Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has reportedly given birth to a baby girl following months of speculation surrounding her pregnancy.

Recall, the actress who back in February while speaking to BBC’s Veronique Edwards, said, “This year. I’ll be getting married this year.”, has been in the news for several months following reports that she was carrying a baby..

However, Yvonne Nelson has constantly refuted such claims by refusing to either confirm or deny the rumours.

The star actress delivered a bouncy baby girl on Sunday morning, October 29, at a hospital in Accra.

The report further claims that Yvonne’s baby is light-skinned, prompting talks of her baby-father being a white man.

More Problems For Hushpuppi As His White Best-friend Calls Him Out (Read)

Just after his social media face-off with an ex-friend Mompha was dying down, Instagram big boy Hushpuppi has been called out by his bestfriend Fargo, who he shared photos with some months ago enjoying a private jet ride.

According to Abdul who said he doesn’t want to hear anything about Hushpuppi again as Nigerians requested information about Huspuppi from him, the Nigerian big boy paid him just $1,200 for the flight and also tried to block his IG verification process for no reason.

They’ve also unfollowed each other on Instagram.

Here’s what he wrote;

Tonto Dikeh Shows Support For Hushpuppi In His Fight With Mompha (Read What She Has To Say)

Tonto Dikeh has shown the side she’s on, following Instagram big boy Hushpuppi’s banter with an ex-friend Mompha. Recall that there’s been defense and anti-defense posts against him.

In a post Instagram user and blogger @Cutie_Juls made defending Hushpuppi, we couldn’t help but notice how Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, who unfollowed and refollowed the ‘gucci’ master,stood up for him.

The post reads;

“After deliberating on everything that happened, I can confidently say without fear that Mompha was never Hushpuppi’s friend. Hush mistakenly thought he had a friend and a brother in Mompha but Mompha never saw him as one.

N!gga was still dining and snap chatting with Hush but there he was speaking ill of him to his wife via text messages as he himself posted online. Men usually do not do this. When their friends move in with you, they will say anything to cover up for them. .

For Mompha to even go and look for “Hush’s daddy’s cab” to snap a picture of it and use it to shame him means he is really petty and a bitter person. They both called out each other on social media but Mompha’s level of “B!tchness” beats my imagination. .
Boi, N!gga be posting his family house and all to prove he is the son of Bill Gate.. boi! .

But who am I to give my opinions on billionaires fight? Oya lemme kukuma go and chop some sleep. .
Lessons learnt-: 1- Becareful whom you let into your life as a friend. Some people only come into your life because they envy you and the only way to bring you down is to get close, know your flaws and use it against you. .

2- To @hushpuppi [hopefully you get to see this].. Never accept this Mompha back into your life. He has never been a friend to you. A friend who will even keep traces of things you told him in confidence and use it against you when you have issues, has been a traitor from day one. Run from such people. .

@mompha [hopefully you get to read this].. send your bank details via dm, comments, email, text or whatsapp and let me credit your account with the $5k that you claim your friend owes you. Billionaire sons don’t spend so much time, energy and data on $5k debt so I have decided to save the situation… boi! Both of you should stay away from each other. That friendship isn’t healthy. #cutiesthoughts”.

OG Morning Devotion ; Shutting Up Mockers (30 Oct 2017)

Open Heavens 30 October 2017: Monday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Shutting Up Mockers

Topic: Shutting Up Mockers — Monday 30, October 2017.

Memorise: The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. – Proverbs 10:28

Read: Psalm 35:15-19 (KJV)

15 But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:

16 With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

17 Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions, my darling from the lions.

18 I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people.

19 Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.

Bible in One Year: Hebrews 11-13, Hosea 7, Hymn: Sing Hymn 8 – Great Is Thy Faithfulness

MESSAGE:

God is a specialist at disgracing mockers and giving His Children the last laugh. This season, you shall laugh last in Jesus’ Name! In Mark 10:46-52, when Bartimaeus was crying to Jesus for help, some people were irritated. Do you know that there are people who do not want your voice to be heard at all? “Shut up you blind beggar! With people like us around, do you think the Master would have time for a beggar like you?” They laughed at him with an air of importance, but he ignored their mockery and cried out for help all the more. They got angry at this defiance. “You’ve got some nerve, you noisy fellow! If you know what is good for you, you better keep your mouth shut!” they continued mocking him as the crowd moved along. However, to their amazement, Jesus suddenly stopped and said, “There is a blind beggar along this street behind us. Go and bring him here and now.” Immediately, the laughter of his mockers ceased. The laughter of your mockers has come to a permanent end today in Jesus Name! The same mockers became his helpers. They politely took him to Jesus, and after Jesus healed him, he became the centre of attraction. Very soon, you that people thought would never amount to anything will become the centre of attraction in Jesus’ Name!

Open Heavens 31 October 2017: Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Prayerlessness Disallowed

A particular sister was dying at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital. Her husband met the doctors and they confided in him that she would not live to see the following morning under any circumstance. So he went to his wife, pretending to care for her, and he told her he would see her the following morning, secretly expecting to meet her corpse by then. As he left the hospital, he phoned his mistress and said, “My stupid wife will pass away tonight. Come over and let’s have fun.” The mistress came to his house and they were “having fun”, but because they never expected anyone to disturb them, they did not even lock the door of the bedroom. They were in for the shock of their lives. After this man left the hospital earlier on, that same night, the Lord Jesus Christ visited his sick wife and said, “I am the Lord that healeth thee; rise up and go home.” As she got up and walked out of the hospital, the nurses thought they were daydreaming and seeing her ghost, and so they did not stop her. She got home and caught the two evil doers in their illicit act. She said to them, “You thought I was dead, but I am alive and well.” Every evil expectation of your enemies shall be disappointed in Jesus’ Name! You shall laugh from now on.

Prayer Point: Father, turn every expectation of my mockers to disappointment.

Hymn 8: Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Verse 1
“Great is Thy faithfulness,”
O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not,
Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been
Thou forever wilt be.

Chorus:
“Great is Thy faithfulness!”
“Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided,
“Great is Thy faithfulness,”
Lord, unto me!

Verse 2
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Verse 3
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

OG Morning Devotion; Turn Prophecies Into Realities (29 Oct 2017)

Open Heavens 29 October 2017: Sunday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Turn Prophecies Into Realities

Topic: Turn Prophecies Into Realities — Sunday 29, October 2017.

Memorise: This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; – 1 Timothy 1:18

Read: James 5:17-18 (KJV)

17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Bible in One Year: Hebrews 9-10, Hosea 5-6, Hymn: Sing Hymn 1 – My Faith Looks Up To Thee

MESSAGE:

A prophecy is of little or no good to the one it has been sent if it does not move from the realm of the spirit into the physical realm. Your attitude to a prophecy plays a great role in determining its manifestation in the physical world. Today’s Bible reading tells us how best to relate with prophecies. Through it, we understand that it is important to pray before making a decree and also after you prophesy. At a time when the nation of Israel was in the grip of a serious national backsliding, Elijah stood before King Ahab and decreed that there would be no rain until he reversed that decree (1 Kings 17:1). Immediately after he made this decree, he went into seclusion. The king only heard the decree, but he did not know what went on behind the scenes. Apostle James tells us that Elijah prayed earnestly before he made this decree. After the nation had experienced intense famine for 31 and half years, God asked Elijah to show himself again to the king. Elijah then stood before King Ahab on Mount Carmel and told him to celebrate because he had heard the sound of abundant rain (1 Kings 18:41-46). He said this only after he had successfully turned the backslidden hearts of the children of Israel back to God. After making his declaration to Ahab, he left the presence of the King, fell on his face and prayed earnestly to God until his prophecy came to pass.

Coming up next: Open Heavens 30 October 2017: Monday daily devotional by Pastor Adeboye – Shutting Up Mockers

Never make a decree or release a prophecy without the backing of prayer. Several people have received certain prophecies that they knew without a doubt was meant for them, and yet they have not witnessed their manifestation in their lives, even while several others are testifying of the fulfilment of the same prophecies in their own lives. What could be wrong? The difference is that some heard, received the prophecy and prayed for its fulfilment, while others heard, received it, but did nothing afterwards. The good thing is that all is not lost; every prophecy that has been spoken into your life or that you have received is still hanging around in the spirit realm, waiting for you to bring it into the realm of the physical through your earnest prayer. A man who had been barren for over 30 years once asked God what he should do, and God said he should wait. When he attended one of our meetings, a prophecy came forth saying “the waiting period is over”. He thanked God, received it and prayed earnestly. That month, his wife conceived. Go ahead and pray for the manifestation of every prophecy God has sent to you that is yet to become reality in your life.

Key Point: Every prophecy can become reality if only you can apply the tool of effective, persistent prayer.

HYMN 1: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE

Verse 1:
My faith looks up to thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine;
Now hear me while I pray;
Take all my guilt away.
O let me from this day
Be wholly thine!

Verse 2:
May thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire.
As thou hast died for me,
O may my love to thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

Verse 3:
While life’s dark maze I tread
And griefs around me spread,
Be thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From thee aside.

Verse 4:
When life’s swift race is run,
Death’s cold work almost done,
Be near to me.
Blest Savior, then, in love
Fear and distrust remove.
O bear me safe above,
Redeemed and free!

2018 CHAN: Ethiopia Or Rwanda To Replace Egypt

Ethiopia and Rwanda will meet in a two-legged play-off for the right to replace Egypt at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.

Egypt pulled out of the tournament- which is for African players based in their domestic leagues – because of a timing clash.

Ethiopia and Rwanda were eliminated in the final round of East Zone qualifiers, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed both teams had been picked for the play-off as “a part of a concern for fairness”.

CAF say it will bring the number of teams representing the Central East Zone at the final tournament in Morocco to three.

The first leg of the play-off will be on 5 November 2017 in Ethiopia with the return leg a week later in Rwanda.

The draw for the 2018 CHAN will be made on 17 November 2017, with the 16-team tournament taking place from 12 January to 4 February.

Man City Remain Unbeaten, Defeat West Brom 3-2

Manchester City defeated West Bromwich Albion 3-2 at The Hawthorns on Saturday in one of the Premier League matches. The result meant that The Citizens remain unbeaten in the 10-week-old league.

The result merely consolidated their position on the table with five points separating them from the second-placed Manchester United.

Leroy Sane put City ahead in the 10th minute and three minutes later, Jay Rodriguez equalised for the home side. City regained the driving seat when Fernandinho scored two minutes later.

The scoreline remained till the second half when Raheem Sterling made it three for City in the 64th minute. Meanwhile, The Hawthorns reduced the goal deficit in the 90th minute through Mathew Phillips.

England Beat Spain To Win U17 World Cup

England completed their FIFA age group resurgence after they came from behind to beat Brazil 5-2 and win their first ever FIFA U17 World Cup title in front of 66,684 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata, India, on Saturday.

In what was a pulsating final contest at India 2017, Spain raced out to a two-goal lead through a brace from Sergio Gomez. The Barcelona youngster opened the scoring just ten minutes in, nodding home in front of England goalkeeper Curtis Anderson after Juan Miranda’s cross from the left struck Cesar Gelabert and bounced goalwards. Gomez’s second goal just after the half-hour mark was a fine strike from close range, with Gelabert and captain Abel Ruiz involved in the build-up.

Undeterred, England fought back to score five unanswered goals. They halved the deficit just before half-time through Brewster’s tournament-leading eighth goal. The Liverpool striker headed home Steven Sessegnon’s fine cross from the right.

Sessegnon’s willingness to get forward and support the England attack drew them level just before the hour mark, as his low cross found an unmarked Morgan Gibbs White to make it 2-2. The Young Lions then took the lead through Philip Foden’s second goal of the tournament on 69 minutes, as he converted Callum Hudson-Odoi’s run and cross.

Any hopes of a Spain comeback ended on 84 minutes, as Marc Guehi finished off a Hudson-Odoi free-kick for England’s fourth before Foden raced in on the counter-attack for his second of the match in the late stages. England’s win follows the U-20’s success at Korea Republic 2017 earlier this year.

Gomez had in September undergone a kidney transplant due to her Lupus, and her friend made the sacrifice of donating her own kidney.

Asked about her feeling like Raisa saved her life, “Because she did,” she said. “That’s it.”

Anything Is Possible In Football, Nigeria Can come Home With The World Cup – Ajiboye

Followers of Nigeria’s exploits at the U17 level will not forget Dele Ajiboye in a hurry after he helped the country win the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup at the expense of Spain having saved the latter’s three spot-kicks. Ajiboye, now playing for Plateau United and Super Eagles, in this interview withChibuike Chukwu, talked on the rumoured return of Vincent Enyeama to the national team, the semi-final target being set for the Super Eagles, Plateau’s CAF Champions League campaign as well as his family and children out of wedlock, among other salient Issues. Excerpts;

There have been talks on Vincent Enyeama returning to the Super Eagles; as a national team goalkeeper, are you threatened?

There is nothing like being threatened because I am very happy for that. He is one of the best. Realistically, Enyeama is like our godfather in the national team. He is my role model and I will be happy that he comes back so that I will be able to meet him one-on-one and get a lot of tips from him. How can I be threatened or intimidated because Enyeama is coming back to the Super Eagles? Remember everything happens by chance and if Enyeama’s coming back will enhance the fortunes of the team, then I pray that he returns and help out. And I like the approach of Coach Gernot Rohr on the issue. He has always remained open to all the players and will make you to play as long as you fit into his plan. So Enyeama’s possible return will only improve the quality of the Super Eagles.

The team will play Argentina very soon; do you think that playing the South Americans will be a good way to kick-start the World Cup preparations?

Well it is a good thing that we are going to play Argentina because they are one of the best teams in the world. They are one of the best in both North and South America. It is okay that we are going to play them and it is equally okay that we are starting on time and starting with such opposition.

But when I interviewed Henry Nwosu recently, he said that he would prefer a situation whereby the Super Eagles start the preparation with African opposition and…

(Cuts in) His opinion is good but if you ask me, I will say that the coaches and the management know the best and what is best for the national team at this time and any decision they make should be respected. Meanwhile, throughout the qualifiers, we have been playing African oppositions so playing Argentina now is a good way to kick start the preparation and we hope to make best use of the opportunity presented by this match. It is going to further prepare this team both physically and mentally.

Some stakeholders, including Coach Gernot Rohr, have been setting semi-final target for the Super Eagles at the World Cup. Do you realistically believe that it is realisable or what is your own target for the team?

I believe Nigeria can rewrite history and break African record at the World Cup. If we win the World Cup, it is not bad and heaven won’t fall. There is nothing wrong in Nigerian being the first African country to win the World Cup. We should be aiming to surpass any record set by any African country and not looking at just qualifying from our group. So it is possible to get to the semi-final because in football, anything is possible. If you watch now, only Senegal, Cameroon and Ghana have reached the quarter final; we should have been among them so since we were not there then, we should aim to pass that record. I have the belief and conviction that it is possible. So Nigeria should aim for the semi-final but for me, I think we should aim beyond that and possibly win the World Cup so that we can break their record and set a new one for the continent. We have the players and a sound technical bench.

But some of your national team colleagues might not be as confident as you are…

(Cuts in) Yes, that is why we are different. It is like that because different people have different opinion about issues. But to me and as long as we are talking of football, anything can happen. We shouldn’t be looking at just making up the numbers in Russia next year. Nigeria should make appreciable impact there.

What are we expecting from Plateau United in the CAF Champions League next year?

For now, I may not give any valid answer to that question because I barely resumed after our break, so I don’t know what we have on ground but I heard they dropped some players and renegotiated with others. I want to know if the players that are retained are right and their ambition for the club.

But I learnt that Plateau United signed players from Katsina United, Kano Pillars and FC IfeanyiUbah

They never signed anybody; have they put pen on paper to ratify the signing? They negotiated with them because I have been speaking with the general manager and others, so I don’t think that they have signed anybody until I confirm such and let you know.

Let me ask you, when the league started, did you sincerely believe that Plateau United could go all the way last season?

I swear to God that created me and I remember telling my general manager that we were going to win the league. Even though he was somehow skeptical of my position but I insisted. I looked at the players we have and we don’t have what some people will call big players in our club. We are not more than five players that have names in our club. The rest equally wanted to make names for themselves as well, so they were ready to play and that was it. Secondly, we have a lovely coach, who understands the mentality of the players. All these gave me the confidence that we were going to win the league and thank God that we did just that.

Can Dele Ajiboye tell us little about his family?

I thank God because I have a lovely family, especially my wife. She is the best of me. I cannot thank God enough over my family because my father is there; my brothers and sisters, they have been there for me. My wife has been supportive in everything I do, she has been my backbone. It is a lovely family I have. I have three children but my lovely wife gave me one; I have not married before. I just got married earlier this year and she gave me a baby boy. The other ones are my lovely children as well. If you see them, they look like me as well. It is just that me and their mother did not marry because of religion. She is a Christian while I am a Muslim. That was the reason why we did not get married. But she is very good to me as well because sometimes she gives me advice on issues.

But I heard that when you people were travelling for the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup, you were accompanied to the airport by a woman suspected to be your wife with three children. Now having said that you just married this year, who could have been the person?

I have to correct the impression; that is a lie because I have never married before. You can ask some of the players we travelled with like Haruna Lukeman or Kingsley Udoh. Why should they be lying against somebody and saying what they cannot confirm? Nobody escorted me to the airport. We travelled with 21 players and seven officials and nobody else followed us to the airport and we travelled to Dubai and from Dubai to our destination.

But can we say that it was the mother of your two children that surfaced at the airport to bid you good bye?

Like I said earlier, I just got married this year. If you want to confirm, you can call Sani Lulu or Garba Manu or like I said earlier, some of the players we travelled with and they will tell you whether I am lying or telling you the truth. We were together at the airport before our departure and nobody escorted me there. It was when we came back that the lady that had a baby boy for me came to visit us. Everybody saw her and we chatted and they briefly gave her the trophy to handle. She did not even come to airport before our departure so I don’t know where the story emanated from and why will people want to tarnish somebody’s image.

But generally, having played in the U17 before, how do you react to the allegation that Africans usually parade overage players at those categories?

I cannot say anything in this regard because I am equally a football player. I believe if such exists, it is not only an African thing. I believe the authentic proof of anybody’s age is the birth certificate which is usually given at the hospitals. So I may not say much about that even though I know it has been a big debate.

How can you rate the just ended season not because your club emerged the new Nigerian champions?

The league is gradually improving not because we won it. It does not start last season but in last season, we saw a lot of improvements compared to previous seasons. But the League Management Company must not rest on their efforts. This is even the time to work harder and make the league much more attractive to private sectors. I know that as years go by, we are going to still witness improvements. At least so many teams were not intimidated in away matches whenever they get results; that was a big leap from what we used to know and I think we should congratulate LMC for the improvements

What are your most memorable moments as a player?

The moments that I can never forget in my life as a player were September 9, 2007 and September 9, 2017, a difference of 10 years. September 9, 2007 was the day Nigerians and the whole world knew who was Ajiboye. That day, we defeated Spain in the U17 World Cup final and Nigerians believe that I won the match for them having saved the penalties played by Spain. Then September 9, 2017 was the year I won the first league title in my life. That is 10 years interval, so I can never forget the two dates. They will remain memorable in my life.
